Founded in 1967, the club is named after the 19th century colonial mogul Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles, and was re-opened under new ownership and management in May 2007.

The leading forces behind the venture comprise of industry veterans Patrice Gouty, Piers Adams, Jeanette Calliva, and award winning interior designer Tara Bernerd. Their collective experience is unparalleled, resulting in a new version of a classic London destination.
